I've always always always had a "thing" for cameras...
One of the best gifts I ever received was in my junior year of high school. My friends surprised me by all giving money to purchase a camera for me! It was a simple point and shoot but it was the most thoughtful and gift as they knew how interested I was in photography.
After that I started dipping my toe into videography when I spent a summer working at Cedar Point. I bought myself a good quality video camera to document my new friends from all over the world and the fun adventures we went on together. Then, my hubby decided to help we with my love by purchasing my first semi professional camera! I only ever used it in auto and didn't love the photos, but I absolutely loved creating videos and the editing process, that I even shot a few wedding videos that I'm actually quite fond of!
But it wasn't until my brother and now sister-in-law asked me to take their engagement photos that I freaked out and thought... "now I REALLY need to figure out what I'm doing here with my camera!" I purchased my professional camera and lens, took countless hours of classes on how to use my camera and how to direct people to get images that I loved and wanted to capture.
I'm happy to say that those photos came out beautifully and it's still one of my very favorite sessions to date.
(Some photos from their session HERE to see where I started!)
After that, I was pretty much hooked and thought, let's see if others would like what I can do, and I scheduled a mini session, which I quickly booked out! Once I gained the confidence and experience, I started my business, and here we are now!
